Fred began his career with Local 14 in 2016, however he’s worked directly with the Local since 2005. He started his work with labor as a member of the UAW while working for General Motors. Fred joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, as a member, while working at Nevada Power Company in the early 1990’s. He spent 15 years in the electric utility business in the US and UK, developing productive working relationships with the IBEW, the Utility Workers Union of American and several trade unions in the United Kingdom.

Fred has lead negotiators for over 120 collective bargaining agreements during his career. He is also the current Chairman of the Teamsters Security Fund of Southern Nevada, Local 14; a multi-employer health and welfare trust fund that provides benefits to over 11,000 members and their covered dependents. He has been involved with both single-employer and multi-employer self-funded benefits plans for over thirty years.

Along with Larry Griffith, former Secretary-Treasurer of Local 14, Fred has lead the effort to create two Teamsters Family Wellness Centers that provide primary care, lab work and generic prescriptive drugs at no cost to Local 14’s members and their families.
