Teamsters Local 14 Supports SB426 for Tenant Justice

Teamsters Local 14 is proud to join multiple unions, including Culinary 226, in supporting SB426. SB426 will cap rental increases at a fair market value, alleviating the rising burden of rental costs on our hardworking members and community. 

Reports have shown that Nevada was second in the nation last year for the fastest-rising rents. That resulted in tens of thousands of families losing their homes or facing greater economic strains. We know that these burdens make it harder for working families to buy a home, save for college, afford healthcare costs, or live fulfilling lives. For so many families, there is no path upward. These rent prices, while a boon for landlords and corporations, are holding down the workers who can no longer change their families’ circumstances. This is unconscionable.

This state was built by workers, it’s run by workers, and we support all workers in their fight against unfair rent increases.
